Kobbertårnet

The 16-story Copper Tower stands at the northern entrance to Copenhagen Harbour. Over the years, the distinctive building with round corners will change appearance. It started out as a fresh copper building with its flaming red color and has now changed to a more subdued dark brown shade.

The decision of a making a copper building also influenced the construction. The chemical abilities in copper combined with the continual rainy Danish weather causes the rain to become aggressive copper water, which can corrode the aluminum in the bearing construction. In close correlation with the facade contractor H.S. Hansen they developed a special membrane, that could protect the aluminum from the corroding copper.

The building is currently housing the lawyer company, Plesner.
