Nordhavnstunnel 1

The North Harbour tunnel is a fast political realization of a link from the northern highway, Lyngbyvejen, to Amager through Nordhavn, enabling car traffic, approximately 45.000 of them each 24 hours, to go around the inner city – instead of right through it.

Still, financing the tunnel depends on a toll system, and currently it will not cost anything for a driver to choose to drive through the inner city instead. Obviously the project is an integral part of the Nordhavn development.

The project is a proposed PPP project, called the eastern ring road, and is estimated to cost around 30.3 billion DKK, the tunnel alone 1.3 billion DKK.
